About the artwork:
Reincarnation Machine is a surreal exploration of transformation, identity, and the possibility of becoming something entirely different. Andrew blends human and animal forms to create an intriguing character that feels caught somewhere between worlds—familiar enough to recognise, yet strange enough to challenge our perception.
The work plays with ideas of rebirth, evolution, and the fluid nature of identity, while Andrew’s characteristic surrealism adds a touch of dark humour and absurdity. Rather than presenting reincarnation as something mystical or literal, the painting invites the viewer to imagine what it might mean to leave one version of ourselves behind and emerge as another.
Painted in oils using Andrew’s distinctive limited-palette approach, the work balances rich tonal depth with expressive detail, giving the piece a raw, tactile presence. Reincarnation Machine is a one-of-one original artwork.
