Title: Cleanse
Size: 61 × 51cm (24 × 20 inches)
Medim: Oil on canvas
Year: 2020
About the artwork:
Cleanse is a contemplative exploration of renewal, release, and transformation. Andrew creates a work that invites the viewer to consider the things we carry, the things we shed, and the possibility of beginning again.
Balancing realism with symbolism, the painting has a quiet psychological quality—encouraging reflection rather than offering a single interpretation. Andrew’s considered use of oil paint gives the work depth and texture, while the restrained approach allows the subject and its underlying meaning to remain the focus.
Painted in oils using Andrew’s distinctive limited-palette approach, the work combines hyper-detailed realism with surreal imagery, creating a work that is as visually compelling as it is psychologically provocative. The intricate textures and expressive anatomy give the painting a rich, tactile intensity. Cleanse is a one-of-one original artwork.
