About the artwork:
Squidface... Spit it Out is a surreal and playful exploration of transformation, anatomy, and the wonderfully strange possibilities of the imagination. Andrew takes the familiar form of a squid and pushes it into an expressive, otherworldly character—equal parts bizarre, humorous, and captivating.
The work reflects Andrew’s fascination with human and animal anatomy, surrealism, and visual absurdity, encouraging the viewer to look beyond the obvious and embrace the strange. It’s unusual character and expressive presence give the painting a mischievous energy, while the title adds another layer of humour and intrigue.
Painted in oils using Andrew’s distinctive limited-palette approach, the work balances rich tonal depth with expressive detail, giving the piece a raw, tactile presence. Squidface… Spit it Out is a one-of-one original artwork.
