Medim: Oil on canvas

About the artwork:
Abiogenesis explores the mysterious boundary between lifeless matter and the emergence of life. Inspired by the scientific idea of life arising from non-living matter, Andrew transforms a complex question of existence into a strange and compelling visual experience.
Blending realism, surrealism, and symbolism, the work invites contemplation of evolution, creation, and the extraordinary complexity that can emerge from seemingly simple beginnings. The intricate detail gives this piece an almost biological presence, while its surreal imagery leaves room for curiosity and interpretation.
Painted in oils using Andrew’s distinctive limited-palette approach, the piece combines rich tonal depth with intricate detail and a raw, tactile presence. Abiogenesis is a one-of-one original artwork.
